Congo Org. Kalehe – Idjwi Island Women's Coffee – Washed AA
Rich, purposeful, and loved by everyone. The everyday drinker that surprises you.
A super clean lot from the Congo — beautiful prep on these beans, sourced entirely from women farmers on Idjwi Island in the Kalehe region. Every bag supports a community turning exceptional terroir into economic empowerment.
We roast this to a medium and find it hits its sweet spot there — floral and soft fruit tones upfront with a gentle brightness that never overwhelms. Delicate sweetness balanced with a little chocolaty spice, smooth with a brown sugar hint that rounds everything out beautifully. Strong savory notes of panela and burnt sugar with juicy acidity and lingering sweetness.
Not too potent like some Africans — this is the one pretty much everyone will love. A great everyday drinker.
Slow roast, fast friends — and a better world.

We take this to City+ | Drop 405–415°F. Works beautifully anywhere from light to dark, but medium is where it truly sings.
