We always love the Kona profile, and Hala Tree Farms delivers one of the finest examples we've roasted. Extra Fancy is the highest grade Kona can achieve — only the largest, most perfectly formed beans make the cut.
We roast this to a medium-dark and find it produces a low acidity cup with accentuated nutty and chocolaty notes that are rich and deeply satisfying. At our roast level some added smoky and roasty notes complement the sweeter cup profile beautifully — bold without losing the elegance that makes Kona special.
On the lighter end this bean shows hints of fruity island acidity balanced with a chocolaty and nutty undertone, jazzed up with a hint of herbal spice in the aftertaste. As the roast progresses the acidity drops and the nutty-chocolaty character takes center stage.
This is a rare, small-lot coffee from one of the most coveted growing regions in the world. We carry it because it's simply exceptional — and because every sloth deserves a treat.
Some things are worth the wait. This is one of them.

We take this to Medium-Dark | Drop 415–425°F. The sweet spot where nutty, chocolaty richness meets just a hint of roasty depth.
